Trim Levels and Physical Specifications 

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax is offered in five different trim levels. These levels are the LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. Each trim level provides different visual features and interior options to meet various consumer needs. For example, the 2RS trim includes a flat-bottom steering wheel. The ACTIV trim features 18-inch wheels finished in black and includes titanium chrome accents on the exterior of the vehicle. 

The vehicle is built to carry up to five adult passengers. The interior layout is designed to maximize the use of available space. When the rear seats are in the upright position, the car provides seating for three people in the back. The rear seat is a 60/40 split-folding design. This means the seat can be folded down in two sections to increase the amount of room for luggage or supplies. When the rear seats are fully folded down, the Trax offers 54.1 cubic feet of total cargo space. Exterior color options for this model year include Cacti Green and Mosaic Black Metallic. 

Safety Systems and Driver Assistance 

Safety is a primary technical focus for the 2026 Chevrolet Trax. Every model comes standard with a group of features known as Chevy Safety Assist. This group includes six specific technologies designed to assist the driver during operation. These six features are: 

• Forward Collision Alert: This system monitors the distance between the Trax and the vehicle in front of it. 

• Automatic Emergency Braking: This system can apply the brakes if a collision is predicted. 

• Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning: This helps the driver stay within the marked lines on the road. 

• Front Pedestrian Braking: This looks for people walking in the path of the car. 

• Following Distance Indicator: This shows how many seconds the driver is behind the car ahead. 

• IntelliBeam Auto High Beam Assist: This automatically turns the high beams on and off based on surrounding traffic. 

In addition to these standard features, there are other safety options available for an extra cost. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, which maintains a set distance from other cars, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The vehicle also includes Teen Driver Technology. This system allows parents to set limits on certain features and review a report card of driving habits. A Rear Seat Reminder is also standard to prompt the driver to check the back seat before leaving the vehicle. 

Technology and Connectivity 

The interior of the 2026 Chevrolet Trax contains several digital interfaces. An 11-inch diagonal high-definition touchscreen is available on certain trim levels. This screen serves as the main point for controlling audio and vehicle settings. The system is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. This allows users to connect their smartphones to the car without using a physical cable. 

Additional technological features include an available wireless charging pad for compatible mobile devices. The car can also be equipped with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, which provides internet access for passengers while the vehicle is in use. These systems are designed to integrate personal electronics with the vehicle’s hardware. 

Engine Performance and Fuel Economy 

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax uses a 1.2-liter ECOTEC turbocharged 3-cylinder engine. This engine is the only power source available for this model. The mechanical output of this engine is 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. This power is sent to the wheels to move the vehicle in various driving conditions. 

According to EPA estimates, the Trax achieves a combined fuel economy rating of 30 miles per gallon. This rating is an average of city and highway driving. Interior comfort is managed by an automatic climate control system. The vehicle also offers a remote start system. This allows the driver to start the engine from outside the car to adjust the internal temperature before entering.
