Interior Space and Cargo Capacity 

The interior of the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is built to accommodate passengers and their belongings. The vehicle offers 98 cubic feet of total cargo volume when the rear seats are folded down. This amount of space is intended for items such as groceries, sports equipment, or luggage. 

The seating can be configured in two primary ways: 

• A third-row bench seat. 

• Available second-row captain’s chairs. 

Depending on the chosen configuration, the vehicle can transport up to eight people. The Traverse also includes a feature called the AutoSense Power Liftgate. This system uses sensors to detect the presence of the key fob behind the vehicle. When the system identifies the fob, the liftgate opens without the need for manual contact. This feature is intended to assist users who have their hands full. 

Integrated Technology Systems 

The 2026 Traverse includes several electronic displays and software tools. The dashboard contains a 17.7-inch diagonal touchscreen. Next to this screen is an 11-inch Driver Information Center. These displays provide the driver with data regarding navigation and vehicle status. 

The vehicle includes Google built-in. This software allows the driver to use Google Maps and Google Assistant directly through the car’s interface. Other connectivity features include wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. For certain driving conditions, the vehicle may be equipped with Super Cruise. This is a hands-free driving technology. It is compatible with more than 585,000 miles of specific roads in the United States and Canada. 

Mechanical Specifications and Performance 

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The mechanical output of this system is 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, the Traverse has a standard towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. This allows the vehicle to pull items such as small boats or trailers. 

The Z71 trim level is available for users who drive on unpaved surfaces. This version of the vehicle includes: 

• A twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system. 

• Terrain Mode settings. 

• Hill Descent Control. 

• All-terrain tires. 

Safety and Driver Assistance Features 

Safety is a primary focus for the 2026 Traverse. The vehicle comes with over 20 standard safety features and driver assistance tools. These systems are designed to help the driver monitor the surroundings of the vehicle. 

Standard safety features include: 

• Forward Collision Alert: Notifies the driver of a possible front-end collision. 

• Lane Keep Assist: Helps the driver stay within the marked lane.

• Blind Zone Steering Assist: Provides steering input if a vehicle is in the driver’s blind spot during a lane change. 

Additional options include Rear Pedestrian Alert and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking. 

Available Trim Levels 

There are several versions of the 2026 Traverse. Each version has different standard equipment. 

1. LT Trim: This is the base model. It includes 18-inch wheels and the 17.7-inch touchscreen. 

2. Z71 Trim: This model is designed for off-road use. It features 18-inch high-gloss black wheels and specific suspension tuning. 

3. High Country Trim: This model focuses on interior comfort and features 22-inch high-gloss black aluminum wheels. 

4. RS Trim: This model has a different visual appearance and also uses 22-inch wheels.
